Rhys Pugh

Trainee Solicitor

Rhys was born and brought up in Aberdare in the Cynon Valley. He attended Aberdare High School.

After finishing school, Rhys quickly got his first job, working behind the bar of his parent’s pub/restaurant. He continued working at the pub while at university to help fund his way through his studies.

Rhys is a graduate of Swansea University, which he attended between 2017 and 2020. After graduating with a first-class honours degree in Law, he stayed at Swansea to take the Legal Practice Course (LPC) while also studying for a Master’s Degree. With success in both postgraduate courses achieved, Rhys joined Mooneerams shortly before Christmas 2022, initially as a Postgraduate Paralegal.

In early September 2024, Rhys was awarded a Solicitors Training Contract with Mooneerams.

Rhys role consists of assisting the El and PL teams, which mainly consists of carrying out legal research, drafting documents on the solicitor’s behalf and communicating with clients, the court and the other party’s representatives. He also works closely with solicitor Gareth Edwards on, amongst other matters, dog bite attack claims and product liability claims.

Rhys spends much of his spare time playing or watching sports when not at work. He is a Manchester United and a Cardiff City fan, so most weekends are spent watching games.

Rhys keeps himself fit by playing 5-a-side football and practising Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, in which he is a blue belt.

In 2023, Rhys ran the Cardiff Half Marathon on behalf of Mooneerams Charity of the Year, 2Wish, and this year, he intends to do the same on behalf of Bronwen’s W;sh, our current Charity of the Year.
